Short Film: Leave It As It Is

“The parks do not belong to one state or to one section…. The Yosemite, the Yellowstone, the Grand Canyon are national properties in which every citizen has a vested interest; they belong as much to the man of Massachusetts, of Michigan, of Florida, as they do to the people of California, of Wyoming, and of Arizona.”

My goal for this film was to put the natural beauty of southern Utah and Arizona on display at a time when national monuments and parks are facing the very real possibility of irreversible destruction.

Grand Staircase Escalante and Bears Ears National Monuments have been reviewed by the Trump administration and have been reduced in size as of March 2018.

Just a single footstep leaves a lasting mark on the pristine desert of the American Southwest- imagine the impact of mining, oil drilling, fracking, and other resource extraction.
